Doug Clayton was born in Berkeley, California, and started in the aviation industry straight from high school and has over 35 years of hands-on experience in the engine business.
Doug Clayton joined Aero Turbine Inc. in San Ramon, California as Vice President and part owner in 1980 and became President in 1995. Doug started working part time at Associated Aerospace Activities, Inc. in Oakland and then later in San Leandro, performing disassembly and cleaning of aircraft and aircraft engine components, including assembled and safety wired actuators. He continued working part time as a mechanic through University.
After earning his degree, Doug Clayton went to work full time first as the Assistant Shop Supervisor and later as the Production Control Manager for Associated Aerospace. In 1978, he was promoted to General Manager. One of the highlights during his tenure as General Manager was the improvement of engine components for the J-33 Engine and the proposal of these new designs to the U.S. Air Force. Doug’s knowledge and experience in the legacy engine business is the heart of Aero Turbine Inc. and the foundation upon which the business is growing.
Doug lives in Manteca, California with his wife, Debbie.
Doug has an undergraduate degree in Criminology from the University of California, Berkeley.
