The Mexican Air Force sent an official memo to the Office of Defense Cooperation, Mexico City, stating their selection of ATI as a sole source provider of repair and overhaul services for their J85-21C engines. The Mexican Air Force stated that Aero Turbine is the only company authorized by the US Air Force to conduct this work via the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) system. ATI is contracted via the Parts and Repair Ordering System (PROS), procurement vehicle managed by the US Air Force’s Security Assistance and Cooperation Directorate (AFSAC). PROS supports FMS customers’ logistics requirements to provide critical mission service to Allies. The current PROS system is managed by the prime contractor, S&K Aerospace, based out of Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. The program supports FMS customers through procurement and maintenance for a wide range of nonstandard and hard to support standard items. In addition to providing critical Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages assets to customers, PROS offers a unique contracting vehicle for specialized engineering and technical services through individual task orders.
